What is a letterform design?

A letterform design is the visual look of arranging letters in a particular font. It is a form of art typically only using letters, or numbers occasionally.

What was your job as the designer?

My job as the designer was to create strategic layouts for each task that would capture the viewer’s attention by not looking overwhelming or too busy but still “out-of-the-box”.

What were some of the challenges you faced during this project?

Some of the challenges I faced during this project would be finding the proper arrangement of certain letters. Sometimes, it was hard to place a letter in a position that would complement the other. Also, it was hard being limited to three fonts; I think if I was able to use more fonts and colors I would have been able to be more sophisticated.

Do you feel you successfully completed the project? Why or why not?

I feel that I successfully completed the project, because overall I think my designs were thought-out and personal– they didn’t look like typical ones online or other forms of letterform design. I tried to introduce specific colors and fonts to make my design stick out.

If you can change something about the project what would it be and why?

One thing I would change is the fonts. I found my fonts hard to match the intended designs.
